Waldringfield (Wlr); Copdock in 1894-8 (Hkg); Belstead Wood, very common in 1899 (Platten); Bentley Woods rare, and singly at Wenhaston Heath and Barnby Broad (Mly); Henham (Btn); Fritton in 1934 (Mr). One yellow form at light at Bungay (Mn).
Recent Suffolk status: Locally common along mainly along the Sandlings and the Breck.
Life history: Single-brooded in the summer. Autumn records are starting to become more regular in recent years.
Identification: Unmistakable.
Habitat: Broad-leaved woodland and heathland.
