Morley's Final Catalogue: Correctly regarded by Bloomfield as 'rare' in 1890, when it was known from Bentley, Needham, Stowmarket, Tuddenham, Beccles and Lowestoft. Recent Suffolk status: Extinct as a breeding species. Only recent record was of a male at Purdis Farm, Ipswich on 01.08.2005 (N. Sherman), possibly a wanderer from the Kent populations.

Life history: Single-brooded in the summer.

Identification: Pale tussock flies earlier in the year and is a much paler moth.
