Morley's Final Catalogue: Not recorded in the county during Morley's time.

Recent Suffolk Status:The sole county record to date of this very rare immigrant was taken on Orfordness on the night of 16.08.2013 (M. Marsh).

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae live in communal nests in Pines on the continent, where it can be a pest species.

Identification: Compare with similar Oak Processionary, which has a pale basal area on the forewing.

Habitats: Conifer woodland on the continent.
