Morley's Final Catalogue: Quite common on oak-trunks in all sylvan places during May. Bentley Woods, always abundant; Freston, Holbrook park; Worlingham; Fritton. Woolpit Wood (Pyett); Tuddenham Fen in 1916, Barton Mills in 1922, Mildenhall in 1934 (Mly).

Recent Suffolk Status: Very local. Becoming rarer in the county in recent years with few records.

Life history: Single-brooded. Can occasionally be found at rest on tree trunks during the day as well as at light traps.

Identification: Brussels lace is usually more greenish.

Habitat: Mainly Birch woodland and Alder carr.
