Recent Status: A very rare immigrant to Britain. There have been 2 recent records in the county: Gorleston-on-Sea on 31.07.2020 (B. Jones) and Frostenden on 15.06.2023 (J. Gearty). Both specimens were of the brown form cognatana.

Life history: Double-brooded in Europe.

Identification: Both colour forms fairly unmistakeable.

Habitat: Areas with Poplar on the continent.
