Morley's Final Catalogue: Not known from the UK in Morley's time, first found in the UK in the 1970's.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very local.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found by beating flowering Blackthorn.

Identification: Green pug is brighter green when fresh, but worn examples can resemble Sloe pug. Sloe pug has a distinctive pink 'waist' around the abdomen just below the thorax. This is black on Green pug.

Habitat: Hedgerows, scrub areas, woodland edges.
