Morley's Final Catalogue: Rare or overlooked. A single example flew to electric light in Ipswich on 12 July 1895; none seen since that time (Mly).

Recent Suffolk Status: Rare. Mainly seen near the coast in Suffolk.

Life history: Double-brooded.

Identification: Very similar to Grey pug, but has a white tuft of scales at the end of the thorax. Very worn examples may need dissection to identify.

Habitat: Waste ground, coastal areas, woodland rides.

Verification Grade Comment: Hard to tell apart from Grey Pug
