Morley's Final Catalogue: Local through the southern half of England; still considered to be very rare in Suffolk, with but three instances: Needham (L), Bury (Wrt), both before 1890; one specimen at rest on an Oak-trunk near Timworth (Nurse, Entom. 1911, 220).

Recent Suffolk Status: Extinct.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Fairly distinctive. Early flight period should seperate from similar species.

Habitat: Mature woodland with large Oaks.

Verification Grade Comment: Extremely rare
