Copdock, Bentley, not very frequent at light in Ipswich, Hemley, Felixstow and Needham (EMM. 1904, 80), Brandeston, at Monks Soham light; larvae and not uncommon imagines at Aldeburgh (Ctw), Southwold, Lowestoft, Gorleston, Beccles, Bury; Tuddenham (Waters).
Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found on Mugwort seedheads in the county.
Identification: Shaded pug has lighter brown markings and is smaller.
