Morley's Final Catalogue: Somewhat local, but doubtless overlooked. Bentley (Harwood) Woods in 1895-6 (Mly); Ipswich in August 1895 (Baylis) and near it (Stainton). Beccles (Crf); Flixton (Crtw).

Recent Suffolk Status: Locally common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found by beating flowering Field maple.

Identification: A small species of pug, normally yellowish with a square shaped pale blotch at the forewing apex. Slender pug is more greyish and has rounded wings.

Habitat: Woodland, hedgerows, gardens.

Recorded in 40 (69%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1895.
Last Recorded in 2023.
