Morley's Final Catalogue: Single and very rare specimens alone noted. Ipswich (Stainton, Man. 1859, ii, 81); Brandeston (Revd. Joseph Greene); Tuddenham, since 1890 (Waters).

Recent Suffolk Status: Very local. More common than in Morley's time.

Life history: Single-brooded. Pupae can overwinter for up to five years.

Identification: No similar species in the county.

Habitat: Chalky grassland, woodland rides where the foodplant, Red bartsia is found.

Recorded in 26 (45%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1890.
Last Recorded in 2023.
