Morley's Final Catalogue: Ranges along with the last, excepting at Aldeburgh. Unnoticed since 1890.

Recent Suffolk Status: Local, more common in the west of the county where there is more of the foodplant. Moths do wander on warm nights away from areas where there is Buckthorn.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae can be found in the late spring on Buckthorn.

Identification: Brown scallop does not have the obvious dark band.

Habitat: Woodland, scrubby areas, hedgerows.

First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
