Beautiful Carpet

Suffolk status: Rare. Recorded less frequently than in the previous century.

This unmistakeable Carpet has been recorded across the county but is mainly restricted to the Brecks and Sandlings. Elsewhere in the UK it is commonly found on chalk soils.

The larvae feed on Bramble, Dewberry, Raspberry and Hazel.

Recorded in 25 (43%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1894.
Last Recorded in 2020.
