Morley's Final Catalogue: No more frequent than the last kind, but distinctly broader spread. Thrice at Copdock; Ipswich singly in June 1895 (Baylis, Pyett); scarce at Waldringfield light (Wlr); Playford and Brandeston (Gr); Monks Soham light in June and July (Mly); Stowmarket, Hardwick, Bury; Tuddenham, uncommon on Galium at dusk, 1889 (Vivian); Beccles (Crf); Shipmeadow.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very local, mainly in mid Suffolk. Seemingly absent on the coast and in the Breck.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Worn examples are superficially similar to Barberry carpet but that species is now extinct in the county.

Habitat: Hedge banks, grassy rides, field edges.
