(Hübner, 1799) 1704 / 70.005

Morley's Final Catalogue: Considered generally 'common' here before 1890; but later noticed, in any considerable numbers, only at Felixstow in mid-July 1902 (Mly).
Seems to be some confusion in Morley with P. Dilutaria (Silky wave) listed under the same heading as P. interjectaria (an older name for Dwarf cream wave). Probably highly unlikely this very local western species has ever been recorded in the county.

Recent Suffolk Status: Extinct in the county, if it actually was even resident. Only currently known from 3 areas of the UK - the Avon gorge, the Great Orme, Caernarvonshire and the Gower, Glamorgan.

Life history: Single brooded. Adults can be flushed from the habitat during the day.

Identification: Other similar species have distinct dark central dots on the forewings. Satin wave is a much larger species.

Habitat: Limestone grassland with Common rock-rose.
