Morley's Final Catalogue: The Revd. A. H. Wratislaw captured one of the two or three known British examples of this north and central European species, at Aldeburgh about 1870. No good reason, beyond extreme rarity, emerges for Bloomfield's supposition in his Additions that ''this should probably be Acidalia ochrata, Scop.''

Recent Suffolk Status: No records either from Suffolk nor nationally since 1909.

Life history: Single brooded in Europe.

Identification: Narrower forewing than Bright wave and normally brighter orange in colour. Cross bands are more strongly marked in this species.

Habitat: Found as a migrant at a coastal site. Grassy meadows and woodland clearings in Europe.
