Morley's Final Catalogue: So extremely rare is this local species with us that Mr. Edmund Skepper of Bury's old record of its occurrence at Lowestoft still remains unique. We form the north extremity of its British range.
Recent Suffolk Status: Extinct. Populations are mainly now centred on the Dorset heaths and the New Forest.
Life history: Double-brooded.
Identification: Could be confused with dark forms of Birch mocha. Dingy mocha has a more obvious point on the hindwing. Habitat: Sallow scrub on heathland and damp grassland. | Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required. | |
