Morley's Final Catalogue: The Drinker caterpillar is among our most conspicuous kinds on low herbage from Bentley woods to Gorleston; indeed, probably throughout the County.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common and widespread.

Life history: Single brooded in the summer. Larvae regularly found in autumn and again in the spring.

Identification: No similar species occur in the county.

Habitats: Wetlands, wet woodland, scrub, rough grassland.

Recorded in 53 (91%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1930.
Last Recorded in 2024.
