Morley's Final Catalogue: Very frequent in all bracken districts.

Recent Suffolk status: Local.

Life history: Single-brooded, flying in summer. Can be seen lekking at dusk over Bracken.

Identification: Orange-brown in colour with parallel bands across the wings, the only swift species that has this feature. Females are darker with grey bands across the wing.

Habitats: Heathlands, woodland rides and open woodlands.

Recorded in 32 (55%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2023.
