Morley's Final Catalogue: Sufficiently broad spread and common, though never in considerable numbers. Bentley Woods, Ipswich sparingly, Monks Soham, Frostenden, Fritton, Gorleston, &c.

Recent Suffolk Status: Local. Recent larval survey work found the species at most places where the foodplant, Hops, occurs.

Life history: Single-brooded. Overwinters as an adult. Larvae can be found on Hops in the summer months.

Identification: Slimmer forewings than Snout.

Habitat: Wetlands, river valleys, hedgerows, gardens - anywhere Hops can be found.
