Morley's Final Catalogue: Not listed.

Recent Suffolk Status: Local. Seemingly the rarest of the 3 species in the county, but possibly under-recorded due to identification difficulties.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Marbled minor, Tawny marbled minor and Rufous minor are all highly variable species in size and patterning. The only reliable way to separate these species is by dissection, which is quite easy in the males.
If no dissection is undertaken moths should only be recorded as Marbled minor aggregate.

Habitat: Woodland, heathland, grasslands.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Recorded in 18 (31%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1968.
