Life history: Single-brooded. Records from May to August in Suffolk.
Identification: Quite a variable species. See Crescent striped, White colon, Dark brocade, Light brocade and Pale-shouldered brocade, all of which are similar.
Habitat: Grasslands, gardens, hedgerows, open woods.
