Recent Suffolk Status: Local. One of the rarer sallow species in the county. Possibly turns up as an immigrant on the coast.
Life history: Single-brooded. Recorded in small numbers at light and Ivy blossom.
Identification: Sallow is usually much paler and has a slightly hooked wing tip. Pale-lemon sallow also has a hooked wing tip and has a small white spot in the kidney mark.
Habitat: Woodlands, hedgerows, scrub. Needs large Elm trees that produce flowers.
