Morley's Final Catalogue: Very rare at Ipswich (Tim. Last, Entom. 1867, 189). Tuddenham St Mary, four (Sparke); Herringswell Fen in early July 1903 (in some numbers: if my memory serves, Elliott, Sparke, Norgate & Burrows, with whom I was collecting, took a few. - CM).

Recent Suffolk Status: Local, mainly along the coast and in the Waveney valley fens.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Unmistakeable. Unlike any other wainscot in colour.

Habitat: Reedbeds and fens.

Recorded in 30 (52%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1903.
Last Recorded in 2024.
