Morley's Final Catalogue: Abundant, though less so than M. stabilis and gothica, with which it frequents sallows everywhere.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Can come to light in very large numbers in woodland. Larvae fairly regularly noted in Suffolk in late spring on Oaks.

Identification: Common quaker is bigger, with a more obvious larger kidney mark and outer line. Blossom underwing is more orange in colour and has the pinkish tinged hindwing.

Habitat: Woodland, scrub, hedgerows, gardens.

Recorded in 52 (90%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
