Recent Status:The first British record of this rare immigrant to Britain was from West Sussex in 1983. Records have been increasing in recent years and the species has probably now colonized sites on the south coast.
The first county record was taken at 40W actinic light, at Felixstowe, on the night of 14 October 2019 (W.J. Brame). Further records were noted in 2021 at Bawdsey and Landguard, Felixstowe. More records are expected in future years as the resident populations increase.
Identification: Compare with similar Flame Shoulder. Leucogaster has longer fore-wings and pure white hind-wings.
