Morley's Final Catalogue: Surprisingly rare; by no means 'generally distributed,' as Bloomfield states (ante 1890). A single specimen in Bentley Woods during 1893 (Baylis); a second taken there on 17 May 1924 (Mly); several at Waldringfield light before 1929 (Wlr). One at Fritton Warren (see no.14, supra); two at light, Fritton marshes, July 1935 (Mr). Several larvae at Easton Bavents in 1935 (Baker).

Recent Suffolk status: Widespread and common.

Life history: Double-brooded.

Identification: Umistakeable.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including Woodland, gardens and heathland.

Recorded in 55 (95%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1893.
Last Recorded in 2024.
