Life history: Single-brooded in late spring/early summer. Males nocturnal, females more diurnal. Emerging earlier in the season in recent years.

Identification: Exhibits sexual dimorphism with the male grey and the female white. Compare the female with White Ermine.

Habitat: Woodland and gardens.
