Annually scarce at Waldringfield (Wlr); Felixstow and Nacton (Gibbs); Bentley and Barnby (Vinter); Dodnash, Ipswich, Belton, Gorleston, etc

Recent Suffolk status: Almost exclusively found in the Breck and along the coastal belt.

Life history: Single-brooded in early summer.

Identification: Unmistakable. Sometimes seen by day but most records are of adults to light.

Habitat: Open woodland, heathland, grassland and gardens.
