Morley's Final Catalogue: [Two L. lutarella, L., were taken by our Member Mr. Wiltshire, 9 miles north of Suffolk at the Horsey coast on 9 July 1936].

Recent Suffolk Status: Presumed rare immigrant. There is a possibility the species has colonised coastal Suffolk. Records have been increasing this century and the moth is noted virtually annually. In recent years has been seen at Lowestoft, Kessingland, Walberswick, Dunwich, Orfordness, Havergate Island, Hollesley and Bawdsey.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Very small and could possibly be confused with a runt Scarce Footman or one of the pyralidae grass moths.

Habitat: Coastal shingle.
