Morley's Final Catalogue: Rare; near Ipswich (Harwood), Bentley (Garrett), Beccles (Crf): ante 1890. Beccles, one in 1922 (Gls); Blythburgh, common (Btn). Larvae frequent under boards on mud, North Cove great carr, April 1935; but imago never seen in Suffolk (Mly).

Recent Suffolk Status: Locally common in the Breck and parts of the Sandlings.

Life history: Single-brooded in the summer.

Identification: Broad whitish fore-wings with black dots render this species easy to identify.

Habitat: Heathland, damp grassland and fens.

Recorded in 29 (50%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1922.
Last Recorded in 2023.
