Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found commonly on Sallow in the county.

Identification: Unmistakeable. Amount of black can vary, with some specimens having hardly any patches.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 54 (93%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
