Morley's Final Catalogue: Of frequent occurrence everywhere; formerly overlooked. Bentley, Wherstead, Ipswich, Westerfield, Playford, Needham, Orford, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Bungay, Gorleston, &c.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very common.

Life history: Triple-brooded. Can be seen at rest during the day on walls and fences, at dusk on flowers and commonly at light. Larvae can be found feeding on many flowers including garden plants.

Identification: Wing shape and 'double'stripe' should make this unmistakeable.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 55 (95%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
