Morley's Final Catalogue: Much scarcer than the last kind, but generally distributed. Ipswich (Freeman, Collins, Mly); Stowmarket (C); Bury (Nurse); Tuddenham (Vivian); Gorleston (Mr).

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Double-brooded. Larvae have been found on Hops in the county fairly regularly.

Identification: Triple-spotted pug lack the white markings. Common pug has a smaller discal spot and smaller white markings.

Habitat: Gardens, river valleys, woodland rides, hedgerows.

Recorded in 43 (74%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
