Morley's Final Catalogue: Almost too abundant amoung Mallow in October to localise. Common at Ipswich lights; Copdock, Waldringfield, Blaxhall, Aldeburgh, Leiston, at Southwold lights, Frostenden, Gorleston, at Monks Soham light, Needham, Stowmarket, Bury. Not plentiful at Tuddenham (Sparke).
Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single-brooded.
Identification: Shaded broad-bar is smaller and flies earlier in the year.
