Morley's Final Catalogue: Ubiquitous in autumn from Ipswich district to Burgh Castle in north and Freckenham in west: Haughley, Letheringham, Blythburgh, Oulton marshes, &c.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Single-brooded in the summer. Can be easily disturbed by day from the habitat as well as coming to light.

Identification: Mallow is larger and flies later in the year. Snout has long palps.

Habitat: A wide variety of grassy habitats.

Recorded in 53 (91%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1939.
Last Recorded in 2024.
