Morley's Final Catalogue: Considered generally 'common' here before 1890; but later noticed, in any considerable numbers, only at Felixstow in mid-July 1902 (Mly). Seems to be some confusion in Morley as P. Dilutaria (Silky wave) is listed with interjectaria (an older name for Dwarf cream wave) also listed under the same heading!
Recent Suffolk Status: Common.
Life history: Single brooded. Occasional autumn records in recent years.
Identification: Small fan-footed wave is a larger species and the outer area of the forewing is normally darker.
Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.
Recorded in 52 (90%) of 58 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1940. Last Recorded in 2024. Additional Stats
