Morley's Final Catalogue: Common, at times abundant, in most or all woods in the east and probably west of the county; especially about Bentley, Ipswich, Farnham, Yoxford and Parham. Gorleston (D, Mr).

Recent Suffolk Status: Locally common in wooded areas. Some evidence of a decline in parts of the county.

Life history: Single brooded in early summer. Suffolk records span into August contrary to the national flight period of May/ June.

Identification: Lesser cream wave has a more rounded forewing and more obvious cross lines. Rosy wave is smaller and has more obvious straighter cross lines.

Habitat: Mainly a woodland species.
