Probably now resident locally along the coast with annual records from some sites. Also recorded regularly as an immigrant.

Life history: Double-brooded.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: Coastal grassland and shingle habitats where the foodplant is found. As an immigrant can appear further inland. Adults come to light but can also be disturbed from the foodplant during the day.
