Morley's Final Catalogue: Quite common throughout the entire County.

Recent Suffolk status: Common and widespread.

Life history: Single-brooded, flying in summer.

Identification: Unmistakeable, males being pure white in colour, females yellow marked with orange. Males can be seen lekking over grassland at dusk.

Habitats: Grasslands, gardens, woodland rides and waste ground, favouring damper habitats.

Recorded in 52 (90%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
Last Recorded in 2024.
